NBA players attack Orlando Magic owner for donation to pro-DeSantis Super PAC

Americans are fed up with the woke mob infiltrating and taking over institutions like professional sports leagues.

2023 is the year the silent majority made their voices heard.

And the NBA went woke and you won’t believe what happened next.

The Bud Light boycott showed that everyday Americans have the power to teach corporations that when you go woke, you go broke.

Now the NBA may be the next up to learn that lesson.

The NBA players’ union whined about the fact that the Orlando Magic donated $50,000 to the pro-DeSantis super PAC Never Back Down.

“A political contribution from the Orlando Magic is alarming given recent comments and policies of its beneficiary,” the players’ union statement began.

“NBA governors, players and personnel have the right to express their personal political views, including through donations and statements. However, if contributions are made on behalf of an entire team, using money earned through the labor of its employees, it is incumbent upon the team governors to consider the diverse values and perspectives of staff and players,” the statement added. “The Magic’s donation does not represent player support for the recipient.”

NBA Commissioner Adam Silver, players and coaches routinely involve themselves in political issues such as demanding the government ban and confiscate firearms from law-abiding citizens and pushing lies about police officers hunting and killing unarmed black men.

DeSantis fired back by calling out the NBA for their hypocrisy.

The Florida governor blasted the NBA for encouraging players to kneel for the national anthem or to remain silent on Communist China’s human rights abuses since the Chinese Communist Party lines the pockets of the league.

“It appears the NBA took a break from protesting our anthem and bending the knee to Communist China to chirp about my policies,” DeSantis wrote on social media.

Loudmouth liberals like LeBron James and Golden State Warriors coach Steve Kerr fancy themselves experts on all sorts of policy matters from race relations, to policing, to the Second Amendment.

Yet James, Kerr and the rest of the outspoken political activists in the NBA clammed up in 2021 after Houston Rockets General Manager Daryl Morey criticized the Communist Chinese for repressing democracy in Hong Kong.

NBA players, owners and league executives worried about losing hundreds of millions of dollars in television revenue owed to the league from selling broadcast rights in China.

The NBA players’ supposed commitment to social justice is a fraud as all the most vocal advocates for equality conveniently have nothing to say about the Communist Chinese ending democracy in Hong Kong or herding the Uyghurs into concentration camps so the government can carry out genocide.

Ron DeSantis and others know the NBA players’ only real cause is their bottom line.

But DeSantis has a megaphone and a platform to speak out and DeSantis wants everyone to know there is no greater collection of political phonies than the NBA players’ union.
