Criminals are taking advantage of the Democrats’ open border policies.
The situation has gotten completely out of control.
In fact, this quiet action from Joe Biden exposes just how bad the border crisis really is.
Drug trafficking has gotten so bad that President Joe Biden has authorized Defense Department officials to deploy active duty and reserve soldiers to the border.
The border crisis has now grown into a problem of enormous magnitude thanks to Biden’s open border policies.
A report from the Federation for American Immigration Reform (FAIR) found that at least 5.5 million illegal immigrants have been encountered on our borders just since President Biden took office.
“Some 2.7 million migrants—those who illegally entered or were otherwise inadmissible at a port of entry—were encountered at our borders in FY 2022, bringing the total under President Biden to a whopping 5.5 million,” FAIR’s report revealed.
Illegal drugs coming over the border are also a huge problem.
The number one cause of death for Americans ages 18 to 45 is now fentanyl overdoses, with 70,000 people dying from the synthetic drug in 2021.
On Thursday, DEA administrator Anne Milgram told Republican panel members of a House Appropriations Committee that an estimated 107,000 Americans died last year from violence and drug overdoses directly linked to the Sinaloa and Jalisco New Generation Mexican criminal organizations.
“The drug cartels responsible for bringing fentanyl into this country are ruthless and extremely violent criminal enterprises,” Milgram said. “They rely on a global supply chain to manufacture and distribute fentanyl, and they rely on a global illicit financial network to pocket billions of dollars.”
None of these problems are new, but only now that Biden has announced his reelection campaign is he taking any steps to seriously tackle the crisis.
“I am authorizing the Secretary of Defense and the Secretary of Homeland Security to order to active duty such units and individual members of the Ready Reserve under the jurisdiction of the Secretary concerned,” Biden wrote in a letter to Congress. “The authorities that have been invoked will ensure the Department of Defense can properly sustain its support of the Department of Homeland Security concerning international drug trafficking along the Southwest Border.”
Officials are also bracing for the ending of the Trump-era Title 42 order on May 11th.
“We do anticipate a surge in the number of encounters,” Secretary of Homeland Security Alejandro Mayorkas told the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee on Tuesday.
