Merrick Garland Accused of Misleading Congress on Hunter Biden Probe

A top member of the Biden administration allegedly interfered in a criminal investigation.

Reportedly they’re secretly giving Hunter Biden help.

This top Democrat was just accused of misleading Congress on the Hunter Biden probe.

Attorney General Merrick Garland is facing allegations from an IRS agent whistleblower who reported “preferential treatment” was given regarding the Hunter Biden inquiry.

Hunter has been under investigation by Trump-appointed U.S. Attorney for Delaware David Weiss for possible tax fraud and lying on a federal form when purchasing a firearm.

NBC News reported last week that federal prosecutors “have considered charging Hunter Biden with three tax crimes and a charge related to a gun purchase,” however, “two senior law enforcement sources” spoke of “growing frustration” inside the FBI because “investigators finished the bulk of their work on the case about a year ago.”

Garland has repeatedly claimed to Congress that U.S. Attorney David Weiss has “full authority” to charge Hunter Biden without interference from the Justice Department.

“There will not be interference of any political or improper kind” Garland said in April 2022 in reference to the investigation by Weiss.

But now there are allegations that was actually a lie.

Attorney Mark Lytle wrote last Wednesday that a longtime IRS employee has information they’re willing to provide to congressional leaders that “contradict[s] sworn testimony to Congress by a senior political appointee.”

“Despite serious risks of retaliation, my client is offering to provide you with information necessary to exercise your constitutional oversight function and wishes to make the disclosures in a non-partisan manner to the leadership of the relevant committees on both sides of the political aisle,” Lytle wrote.

“My client has already made legally protected disclosures internally at the IRS, through counsel to the US Treasury Inspector General for Tax Administration, and to the Department of Justice, Office of Inspector General. The protected disclosures: (1) contradict sworn testimony to Congress by a senior political appointee, (2) involve failure to mitigate clear conflicts of interest in the ultimate disposition of the case, and (3) detail examples of preferential treatment and politics improperly infecting decisions and protocols that would normally be followed by career law enforcement professionals in similar circumstances if the subject were not politically connected.”

In a statement to NBC on Thursday, Hunter Biden’s attorney Chris Clark attacked the whistleblower and the IRS.

“It appears this IRS agent has committed a crime,” Clark said. “It is a felony for an IRS agent to improperly disclose information about an ongoing tax investigation. The IRS has incredible power, and abusing that power by targeting, embarrassing, or disclosing information about a private citizen’s tax matters undermines Americans’ faith in the federal government.”
