Here are the more than 30 criminal charges Democrats have come up with to destroy Donald Trump.
Former President Donald Trump is reportedly facing more than 30 criminal charges related to hush money payments made to adult film actress Stormy Daniels during the 2016 election cycle.
While the exact charges Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg has brought against Trump are still sealed, some details have emerged.
A source told The New York Post that Trump was indicted on a felony.
“The charge of falsifying business records in the first degree is a class E felony, the lowest level felony, and it is the top charge in the indictment secured by Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg’s office,” the Post reported on Friday.
“We now heard 34 counts, and I guarantee you it’s going to be 34 counts when we find out next week,” Trump’s lawyer, Joe Tacopina, told Fox News host Sean Hannity during an interview on Thursday.
“They’ll take each check and make that a count, perhaps, and that’s how they’ll do it because the checks are paid to [Michael] Cohen,” he explained.
Tacopina also told ABC News the process is impossible to predict.
“This is unprecedented. I don’t know. I’ve done a million arraignments in that courthouse with celebrities and whatnot. But this is a whole different thing,” Tacopina said on ABC’s “This Week” with anchor George Stephanopoulos.
“We have Secret Service involved. I understand they’re closing the courthouse for the afternoon. I just don’t know what to expect to see,” he added.
“What I hope is that we get in and out of there as quickly as possible, that it’s, at the end of the day, a typical arraignment where we stand before the judge, we say ‘not guilty,’ we set schedules to file motions and whatnot or discovery, and we move forward and get out there.”
Even critics of Trump have blasted the indictment.
Former Rep. Tulsi Gabbard, who left the Democrat Party last year, said the “politicized indictment” of Trump is “just the latest example of the Dem establishment putting their own personal and partisan political interest ahead of the interests of the American people and our country.”
“It is a despicable, extremely dangerous turning point for our country,” Gabbard added.
Former Attorney General Bill Barr called the indictment an “abomination.”
“Based on the news reports if they’re accurate, this is an abomination,” Barr said Friday on Fox Business.
“It’s the epitome of the abuse of prosecutorial power to bring a case that would not be brought against anyone else. They are going after the man, not a crime. And the legal theory, frankly, is pathetically weak.”
“It makes us look like a banana republic. And it should,” Barr said.
