Donald Trump is about to stand trial in New York on sham charges.
But is Trump walking into a kangaroo court?
Now Democrats just found this sinister way to rig Donald Trump’s trial.
Soros-backed Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg concocted a never-before-seen legal theory to charge Donald Trump.
Bragg is indicting Trump over a payment Michael Cohen made to Stormy Daniels in 2016 as part of a nondisclosure agreement.
In a 34-count indictment, Bragg outrageously claimed Trump falsified business records to hide accepting illegal campaign contributions.
But Trump would have violated federal campaign finance law since he was running for president.
However, neither the Federal Election Commission nor the Department of Justice sanctioned or prosecuted Trump for this offense.
To make these joke charges stick, Bragg needs a stacked deck.
And conservative Washington Post columnist Henry Olsen warned that the judges who would hear Trump’s appeal are — like Alvin Bragg — elected in partisan elections and thus answerable to an overwhelmingly Democratic New York electorate.
“New York state’s entire judicial process is controlled by Democrats who could lose their positions in party primaries. Alvin Bragg, the district attorney overseeing the case, boasted during his campaign that he had sued Trump or his administration more than 100 times during his tenure in the state attorney general’s office, something he probably did to curry favor with primary voters who loathe Trump. Every New York state judge who would either try the case or hear an appeal is elected on a partisan basis, too,” Olsen wrote.
The first domino to fall in a rigged trial was the selection of Judge Juan Manuel Merchan to hear the case.
Merchan oversaw the trial of the Trump Organization and former Trump Organization Chief Financial Officer Allen Weisselberg.
Trump blasted Merchan as an unhinged Trump-hater who ran a biased trial against Weisselberg, where Weisselberg pleaded guilty for minor crimes that are almost never prosecuted in exchange for a five-month prison sentence.
“The Judge ‘assigned’ to my Witch Hunt Case, a ‘Case’ that has NEVER BEEN CHARGED BEFORE, HATES ME. His name is Juan Manuel Marchan, was hand picked by Bragg & the Prosecutors, & is the same person who ‘railroaded’ my 75 year old former CFO, Allen Weisselberg, to take a ‘plea’ deal (Plead GUILTY, even if you are not, 90 DAYS, fight us in Court, 10 years (life!) in jail. He strong armed Allen, which a judge is not allowed to do, & treated my companies, which didn’t ‘plead,’ VICIOUSLY. APPEALING!” Trump posted on Truth Social.
After Weisselberg pleaded guilty in exchange for a lesser sentence, Judge Merchan exploded, scolding Weisselberg and telling him that if not for this deal, he would have imposed a much longer sentence.
“Had I not made the promise, I would not be imposing the five-month sentence,” Merchan ranted. “I would be imposing a sentence much greater than that.”
It’s no accident Democrat prosecutors will indict Trump in New York City, Atlanta, and Washington, D.C.
That’s because Democrats are leaving nothing to chance in their quest for political vengeance over Trump winning the 2016 election.
And Democrat prosecutors want to make sure they secure convictions by holding these sham show trials in front of Democrat judges and juries.
