Ron DeSantis helps fundraiser for Marine charged by Alvin Bragg go viral

Soros-backed Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg went too far.

Now Bragg is realizing the kind of deep trouble he’s in.

Ron DeSantis had one message for Alvin Bragg that was seriously bad news.

Alvin Bragg charged 24-year-old Marine veteran Daniel Penny with second-degree manslaughter — a charge that carries up to 15 years in prison — after the death of 30-year-old mentally ill criminal and homeless man, Jordan Neely.

Neely — who had been arrested 40 times including most recently for punching a 67-year-old woman in the face and breaking her nose — was harassing passengers on the subway when Penny restrained Neely.

Neely later died.

Police initially let Penny go after questioning.

But pressure from radical leftists like Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez — who hoped to turn Neely into another George Floyd — pushed Bragg to bring charges.

“Jordan Neely was murdered. But bc Jordan was houseless and crying for food in a time when the city is raising rents and stripping services to militarize itself while many in power demonize the poor, the murderer gets protected w/ passive headlines + no charges. It’s disgusting,” Ocasio-Cortez posted on social media.

Neely had a history of terrorizing women on the subway including trying to push bystanders on the tracks.

The real failure was the soft-on-crime policies of Bragg and other New York prosecutors that did not keep mentally ill threats like Neely in an institution where he could get help.

But Bragg succumbed to the pressure of racial politics and brought what critics saw as politically motivated charges against Penny.

Bragg is up for re-election in 2025 and he fears that if he does not follow the left’s marching orders in any high-profile case his prospects of remaining in office dim.

Penny’s lawyers told the press that their client has been holding up strong considering the circumstances and that he pledged to fight these sham charges and clear his name.

“He’s dealing with the situation like I said with the sort of integrity, honor, that’s characteristic of who he is, characteristic of his honorable service in the United States Marine Corps. He has his head held up,” Attorney Thomas Kenniff stated.

“We are confident that once all the facts and circumstances surrounding this tragic incident are brought to bear, Mr. Penny will be fully absolved of any wrongdoing,” Attorney Steven Raiser added.

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis promoted a GiveSendGo to raise money for Penny’s legal defense while also declaring a matter of public safety that Americans must defeat Soros-funded prosecutors like Alvin Bragg.
