DOJ Prosecutors Pushed Trump Raid Despite FBI Doubts

There were serious problems with the surprise raid the FBI carried out on Donald Trump.

And there’s new evidence showing that the legal system is being weaponized against Republicans.

In fact, one document shows just how bad the Biden administration targeted Trump.

While hardly a conservative outfit, even officials in the FBI wanted to shut down the probe into classified documents held by former President Donald Trump.

But DOJ prosecutors pushed a surprise raid on Mar-a-Lago anyways according to a report.

The Washington Post reports two senior FBI officials resisted the idea of a surprise raid on Mar-a-Lago, calling it “too combative” and proposed seeking Trump’s permission to search his property first.

“The FBI agents’ caution also was rooted in the fact that mistakes in prior probes of Hillary Clinton and Trump had proved damaging to the FBI, and the cases subjected the bureau to sustained public attacks from partisans,” reported The Washington Post.

DOJ prosecutors claim they were merely treating Trump the same as any other government employee who had classified information that “could threaten the nation’s security.”

The Post reports the case was “closely monitored at every step by senior Justice Department officials” and Attorney General Merrick Garland personally approved the raid.

Yet, despite the FBI’s claims they were treating Trump the same as any political official, it’s a stark contrast to how they handled the situation when it was discovered that President Joe Biden had mishandled numerous classified documents.

The FBI conducted the 13-hour search of Biden’s house that was voluntary and not the subject of a warrant or court-authorized process according to the White House.

“The FBI executed a planned, consensual search of the President’s residence in Wilmington, Delaware,” said Assistant US Attorney Joseph Fitzpatrick.

“POTUS’s lawyers offered to provide DOJ prompt access to the Wilmington home, and gave DOJ full access to it, including personally handwritten notes, memorabilia, and papers going back decades,” said Ian Sams, Special Assistant to the President & Senior Advisor to the White House Counsel’s Office.

“DOJ took possession of materials it deemed within the scope of its inquiry, including six items consisting of documents with classification markings and surrounding materials, some of which were from the President’s service in the Senate and some of which were from his tenure as Vice President,” Bob Bauer, Biden’s personal lawyer, said in a statement.

“DOJ also took for further review personally handwritten notes from the vice-presidential years.”

The search happened months after the classified information had been strangely “discovered” by Biden’s lawyers.
