Democrats have completely insane standards for their followers.
They want to destroy healthy relationships just because it isn’t progressive or “woke.”
In fact, one Democrat Congresswoman actually said traditional family households were “dangerous” and “un-American.”
Rep. Erin Healy of South Dakota recently criticized the Family Heritage Alliance – calling the organization “extremist” for saying that children benefit from the support of their married biological mother and father.
“Extremist group Family Heritage Alliance said this morning that the safest place for kids are in families that have a married mom and dad,” Healy tweeted on Monday. “What a dangerous and un-American belief.”
“Rep. Healy has completely disregarded what we know to be true about children and families,” Family Heritage Alliance told Fox News Digital in response.
“Growing up in the home of a married biological mother and father is the single largest predictor of success later in life. It’s highly ironic that she describes a well-known fact about child safety as dangerous and un-American.”
Healy posted multiple rants against the traditional family after the House State Affairs Committee of South Dakota killed a bill that would have changed the definition of marriage as being “between two persons” instead of a man and a woman.
“The grip from fundamentalist groups who only believe in nuclear families is strong at our state legislature today. I am disgusted by the extremist opposition we heard today and disappointed we couldn’t pass such a simple, important bill,” Healy tweeted on Monday.
But Healy is choosing to ignore the abundant evidence that shows children do best in traditional family structures.
A 2010 study by the Department of Health and Human Services found that “children living with two married biological parents had a significantly lower rate of this maltreatment than those in all other conditions of family structure and living arrangement.”
The study found that only 1 in 63 children with married biological parents experienced mistreatment, while 1 in 19 of children with “other married parents” experienced mistreatment, and an astounding 1 in 7 children with a single parent living with an unmarried partner experienced mistreatment.
“Children whose single parents had a live-in partner saw the highest rates of physical and sexual abuse compared to children in other living situations, according to the study; 15.4 out of 1,000 of this group
experienced physical abuse and 12.1 of 1,000 experienced sexual abuse, compared to 2.5 and 0.7 out of 1,000 respectively for children with married biological parents,” reported the Daily Caller on Tuesday.
