Utah’s Junior Senator and perennial presidential candidate Mitt Romney has long been a thorn in the side of the GOP.
And the architect of Obamacare has gotten worse ever since Donald Trump came on the scene.
But Mitt Romney proved he’s nothing more than a tool of the Deep State with this shocking action.
Conservative activists and GOP stalwarts have known for decades what a disaster Mitt Romney has been for the Republican Party, and the country.
Most know he was the initial architect of Obamacare by ramming his Romneycare into law in his home state of Massachusetts.
And liberty activists know what a disaster he was in 2012 as Ron Paul delegates were locked out of a railroaded national convention.
Romney’s brand of liberal Republicanism has been a disaster for the party.
And Mitt Romney’s votes in the U.S. Senate have been a disaster for our nation.
Of course, his hatred of Donald Trump is well-known.
But of course that didn’t start until after Romney ran for President in 2012, and begged for Trump’s endorsement.
After establishment RINOs lost control of the Republican Party to a coalition Liberty activists and Trump and his conservative supporters, Romney changed sides and led the effort to help Democrats win elections.
In March of 2016, Romney delivered a speech announcing the formation of the Never-Trump effort when he falsely claimed Donald Trump was a “fraud.”
Romney, well known for his career of being a fraud said, “Here’s what I know: Donald Trump is a phony, a fraud. His promises are as worthless as a degree from Trump University. He’s playing members of the American public for suckers. He gets a free ride to the White House, and all we get is a lousy hat.”
Romney then became the first Senator to vote to convict a President from his own Party when he sided with Nancy Pelosi and the Democrats in the Russian collusion impeachment hoax.
Even after it was determined the very reason impeachment proceedings were held was a lie and a fraud, Romney stuck to his RINO guns.
Romney even voted to convict Donald Trump in the Democrats’ second impeachment hoax following the events of January 6.
But the fact is, Romney’s betrayals run even deeper.
All the way to the Deep State.
In his new book, “The Long Alliance: The Imperfect Union of Joe Biden and Barack Obama,” Gabriel Debenedetti reported that Romney and Joe Biden hatched a plot to get rid of Trump on election night in 2018.
As Democrats were winning control of the House of Representatives, Romney – who still calls himself a Republican – called Biden to congratulate Democrats on their victories and to beg him to run against Trump in 2020.
“At one point [Biden] connected with Mitt Romney, who’d been easily elected to the Senate that night as a rare Trump-opposing Republican. They were warm as Biden cheered Romney’s win,” according to an extract of the book in The Guardian.
“Then Obama’s old rival got to the point: You have to run, Romney said.”
Romney’s sneaky maneuvering to support a Democrat against a sitting Republican President is an unconscionable betrayal, like so much of what Mitt Romney does.
As news gets out about Romney’s shady dealings with Joe Biden it may finally convince the vast majority of Republicans that Mitt Romney has no business being in the Republican Party.
And we can at least hope it will lead to a GOP Primary challenge for “Mittens” in 2024.
