Nancy Pelosi was just re-elected Speaker of the House and is already moving in a more radical direction.
No longer happy to just talk about change anymore, Pelosi and the Democrats are ready to shove it down America’s throat.
And her newly-proposed House rules prove this by moving towards this new language.
In the book 1984 by George Orwell, the character Syme explains the political goals of “newspeak” to Winston.
Syme tells Winston that eliminating “traditional” words from the English language and replacing them with only Party-approved words and concepts will rob their opponents of the ability to counter the Party’s ideology.
“Don’t you see that the whole aim of Newspeak is to narrow the range of thought? In the end we shall make thoughtcrime literally impossible, because there will be no words in which to express it.”
Scary stuff. And at the time, this book was written to be pure science fiction.
Well, we now know just how prophetic Orwell was. Attempts to rob the language of words while creating new ones, has been going on for quite some time.
But now it’s really taken off as new “words” are added to the dictionary and others are forbidden from being uttered, written, or googled.
Much of this has been achieved by social media and social justice warriors upset that a brown bag is called, well, brown.
But it’s also crept into the public arena as local and state governments are changing the names of roads, schools, and buildings – all at the taxpayer’s expense of course.
Of course, not to be outdone, Nancy Pelosi is following suit.
House leaders announced last week that the Rules Package for the 117th Congress includes a proposal to replace all “gendered” familial language with gender-neutral terms.
Pelosi and Democrat Congressman James McGovern (D-MA 2), who is the Chairman of the Rules Committee, announced these bizarre changes to the House rules in order to “honor all gender identities” and “change pronouns and familial relationships in the House rules to be
gender neutral or removes references to gender, as appropriate, to ensure we are inclusive of all Members, Delegates, Resident Commissioners and their families – including those who are nonbinary,” according to McGovern’s announcement.
This explains why the House prayer on Sunday ended with the ridiculous “Amen and Awoman.”
While Americans fall further into economic despair, and more businesses close down, and violence rages on, Nancy Pelosi feels changing gender-specific words to be more “woke” is far more important.
