Here Is the Scientific Truth About Masks, You Won’t Like It

by x82hPEs

It could very well be one of the top issues of the 2020 elections – mask or no mask.

And depending on the day of the week and which doctor or scientist you talk to, you could get a dozen or more different views.
But here is the scientific truth about masks, and you probably won’t like it.

Here at Deep State Journal, we have taken sort of a hands-off approach to masks. If you want to wear one, well, OK. We won’t make fun of you.

If you don’t want to wear one, you are certainly free to make that decision and in fact we celebrate it with you.

But now, it has become so much more than just a friendly debate.

Mask Nazis are everywhere, cajoling, screaming, even calling police on, and beating up, shooting and stabbing Americans without masks.

So, enough Mr. Nice Guy. The fact is, the mantra here at Deep State Journal is this:
“If you’ve ever wondered whether you would have complied during 1930s Germany, now you know.”

Because the simple fact is, if you are looking for scientific rationale that promotes universal mask-wearing, you won’t find it now.

That’s because the issue of masks has become as political, no even more political, than guns, abortion, immigration and taxes.
We’ve past all points of rational thought on the subject and entered mask fantasy land (not that kind of fantasy, the bad kind).

We are now to the point where 19-month-old babies are being forced to wear them on airplanes. In the absurd position of Canada’s chief public health officer calling on people to wear masks when engaging in sexual activities.

It’s often been said that there simply is no rational thought in a political cult. And the “new normal” mask Nazis certainly fit that bill.
Joe Biden has called for a national mask mandate, some governors are proposing heavy fines, home confinement and even jail time to those not wearing masks.

You can no longer board an airplane without a mask, get a haircut, get your nails done or even attend school.

So, certainly there is medical and scientific evidence to back all this mask hysteria up.

Well, no, not exactly.

Let’s take a look at what the leading government, medical and scientific literature said before this became a political issue, a matter of governmental control, not public health.

On April 3, several weeks into the lockdown over the Communist Chinese-created coronavirus, but before the big media push for universal masking, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) issued guidelines for protection for workers exposed to people with the virus.

OSHA stated clearly what governments around the world had said all along, “Surgical masks and eye protection were provided as an interim measure to protect against splashes and large droplets (note: surgical masks are not respirators and do not provide protection against aerosol-generating procedures).”

In other words, they knew then that since the virions of coronavirus are roughly 100 nanometers, 1/30 the size of surgical mask filtrations, surgical masks (not to mention cloth ones) do not help, at all.

This explains why all of the places overseas with universal mask orders in place for months, like France, Hong Kong, Israel, Japan, Israel, Peru and the Philippines failed to stop the spread of infection.

It also explains similar problems in California and Hawaii.

The truth was then, and still is, that surgical masks could possibly stop large droplets from those coughing with very evident symptoms, but that’s it.

And cloth masks, you know, the ones you see most people wearing these days, they are more than useless, they are dangerous.

This is why the CDC, even as late as May, was citing the 10 trials that showed “no significant reduction in influenza transmission with the use of face masks.”

And even the patron saint of liberals everywhere, Dr. Anthony Fauci, spoke assertively against universal mask-wearing early in the epidemic.

“There’s no reason to be walking around with a mask,” Dr. Fauci told “60 Minutes.”  He went on to explain that masks can only block large droplets, they give a false sense of security, and they cause people to get more germs on their hands by fiddling with it.

Those are facts that don’t change with time, or political seasons.

And several weeks later, Surgeon General Jerome Adams said that one has to assume that “wearing a mask improperly can actually increase your risk of getting disease.”

Of course, only a very small percentage wear masks properly, or even wear the proper masks.

Nothing about the biology of the virus or our discovery of it has changed in the past few months that would lead us to believe that masks are somehow more effective against it than they were in March, April or May.

No, the science hasn’t changed.

The only thing that has changed is the politics.
Governments found they could no longer control our lives through lockdowns, so they created the mask mandate as a way of permanently controlling the American people.

In fact, Dr. Jeffery Klausner, an infectious disease doctor at UCLA, said mask-wearing is all psychological, not physiological. He told the Los Angeles Times that “fear spreads a lot faster than the virus” and that a mask only “makes you feel better.”

What is so dangerous about this is that, as Fauci warned, many immunocompromised people will go to dangerous places thinking the mask protects them.

Swedish epidemiologist Anders Tegnell warned because scientific evidence for mask-wearing to prevent COVID is “astonishingly weak,” it is “very dangerous” to believe that face masks could control the spread of the disease rather than simply hand washing. Sweden of course has almost no cases, and almost no one wears a mask.

So, the question is, how have we gone from public officials universally warning about the lack of effectiveness of masks to our current mask mandate mania?

The answer is simple.
Because we complied.
