Nancy Pelosi Made One Decision that Has Donald Trump and Mitch McConnell Fuming

When moderate Republicans actually join forces with their own party instead of the Democrats, it’s always big news.

That’s why as Congress left for the Christmas break, the media was scrambling to figure out why moderate GOP Senators were suddenly defending Donald Trump.

Of course, it’s because Nancy Pelosi made the one decision that has both Donald Trump and Mitch McConnell fuming.

There’s very little that happens in Congress that gets moderate Republicans like Mitt Romney (R-UT), Susan Collins (R-ME), and Roy Blunt (R-MO) to join with their own party.

Massive and unconstitutional spending bills, unlimited wars, and restrictions on Americans’ freedoms are three things the moderates are always happy to band together on.

But it turns out, they can really get their backs up over abuse of power by House Democrats.

As one Senate staffer told Deep State Journal recently, “There is a group of moderate GOP senators that might actually vote to convict the President. But they are so angry at how the Democrats have handled this whole thing, they are all now likely to vote against it and just end the fiasco.”

Currently, the timeline for the Senate’s impeachment trial is still undecided, largely due to Nancy Pelosi’s refusal to send the articles of impeachment over to the Senate.

Senator Blunt, during an interview on CBS’s ‘Face The Nation,’ said the House would eventually have to send the articles over, but said it was a mistake for the Democrats to withhold and delay them:

“I actually think this is a mistake for the speaker to continue to dwell on this issue. I don’t think it’s worked out that well for them politically. I actually don’t think the speaker — who has great power in a lot of cases — has the power to decide not to send over a determined will of the House of Representatives.”

That’s right, even a moderate GOP Senator like Blunt agrees that the Democrats and Nancy Pelosi are acting just arrogantly enough to get him to support the President.

Even Senate Leader Mitch McConnell, the RINOs fair-haired darling, has made it clear he will not give into Pelosi and Chuck Schumer’s demands for new witnesses and testimony.

McConnell has said from the beginning that any trial in the Senate will be swift with no new witnesses or testimony, indicating an almost pre-determined acquittal.

McConnell has also stated, “This particular House of Representatives has let its partisan rage, at this particular president, create a toxic new precedent that will echo well into the future.”

Additionally, Blunt strongly called on Democrats to send impeachment managers to “defend” their articles of impeachment in the Senate, saying, “They have voted, they have voted on two articles. They need to come and defend those two articles.”
